After serving the Singapore Armed Forces at the HQ level as a commissioned Officer, Alfred left the Government Service in 1989 with more than 10 years at management level.

Thereafter Alfred founded Service Distinction Consulting (S) Pte Ltd with partners and offices in several cities in Asia providing a successful range of services in Human Resource Development, business investments, corporate intelligence and new market development consulting services to Asian and international organizations both in private and government sectors.

He has held senior management positions both with clients including main board-listed companies, affiliated and consulting companies. Clients include those from the healthcare, hospitality, finance and banking, retail, food and beverage, security and education.

Alfred holds a Master of Arts in Education, Training and Development from the University of Hull, UK. He is also an Internationally Certified Management Consultant (CMC) of the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI) recognized in 48 countries. He is also a fellow and member of the Institute of Management Consultants Singapore, Singapore Institute of Directors (SID), Singapore Compact for Corporate Social Responsibility, Approved Work Pro Work-Life Grant Consultant as well as the pioneer graduate of the Practicing Management Consultant (PMC) Singapore – the mark of Quality Assurance. He is also a member of the New Zealand Chamber of Commerce, Greater San Jose Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USA), a corporate member of the Singapore Institute of Directors, and Singapore Compact for Corporate Social Responsibility. He is also one of the advisory board members of the Indoaust Investment Ltd.
